Agritourism – Aloe & Cheese

We’ll begin by heading to the rural area of ​​Tijoco Alto, where we’ll start our excursion with a visit to a traditional Canarian cheese factory. We’ll tour the facilities, where you can see how we care for our animals, what they eat, and how we obtain the fresh milk needed to make our dairy products every day.

You’ll watch the master cheesemakers craft some of the most delicious cheeses in the Canary Islands right before your eyes. They are very proud of the effort and work involved in making their cheeses and dairy products, which have won over sixty awards at the island, national, and international levels. This modest family business is firmly committed to local production and to preserving the tradition and unique character of artisanal products made in the Canary Islands.

Discover an authentic goat and sheep farm in Tenerife, which is also the island’s most awarded cheese producer. See the beauty of the native goats and learn more about their milk production, their diet, and how it’s transformed into delicious cheese. Finally, sample three different types of cheese during the tasting. Be sure to share a few cuddles with the goats before you leave.

Afterwards, we’ll continue our route to the municipality of Arona, located a few kilometers from the coast and Los Cristianos. At the entrance to the town, whose old quarter is a site of cultural interest and boasts a beautiful 18th-century church and numerous stately homes, lies our farm, still under development, with several hundred aloe vera plants (Aloe barbadensis Miller). These will gradually be expanded with more specimens of this species, known since ancient times for its many properties and uses. During the visit, you’ll see how an aloe vera leaf is cut, taste its pulp, and learn about all the products derived from its natural gel.

End of the excursion and return to the hotel.
